Why Alfa and not Alpha: Alfa is the phonetic spelling for the letter A in the NATO alphabet. They spelled it that way because only 2 of the NATO countries languages have PH making the F sound. So internationally you will find it spelled ALFA.
The Star: The channel Logo is a Army Air Corps Star that was hand painted on my wifes grandfathers footlocker. He joined the Corps before our involvement in WW2 and served In the Pacific Theater during the war working on the Allison engines in the P39 and P38's.
