Abilities are the grounds for building up skills. For example a dancer may perform her moves skilfully, but needs to have the ability to stand, turn, balance, sense, listen, relate to, and so forth, to begin with.
Alfons has extensively studied the works of Dr. Moshé Feldenkrais and other pioneers of Somatic Education (Somatics).
