This channel will serve as a video "companion" to the Living with Steam podcast; which features the railroad sound recordings made by John M. Prophet III from 1948 to 1955 using a Webster Chicago wire recorder. John was a very dedicated railfan for his entire life. He was the cofounder of the Niagara Frontier Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, and the cofounder of the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical & Historical Society. During John's lifetime, he was considered the foremost authority on the history and operation of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
The recordings featured on Living with Steam were captured in the Buffalo & Western New York area in addition to locations in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey.
