My name is Matt Balane, FKA Poetic Ink. I am a conscious hip hop artist, spoken word poet, and creative writer whose aim is to provide others with wisdom and hope through my craft. I have walked through substance abuse, depression, suicidal tendencies, and losing loved ones to suicide throughout my life. These experiences have allowed me to understand the value and beauty of life, love, and people.
I believe authenticity and vulnerability are some of the greatest gifts humanity has to offer, and that is highly reflected in my music. I believe it is okay to not be okay at times, which is also mirrored in my art. My vision is to impact the world, especially youth and young adults, by letting them know that there are those that understand and feel their pain, even in the silence.
