Dr. Michael Chua is a boardcertified ophthalmologist with special interests in cataract, glaucoma, and eyelid surgery.
Dr. Chua graduated with an ScB in Neuroscience from Brown University with a 4.0 GPA. He then received a fulltuition Gamble Scholarship while attending medical school at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. After medical school, Dr. Chua completed his internship at Lincoln Hospital—Weill Cornell Medical College. He went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, regarded as one of the best ophthalmology programs in the country. During his final year of residency, he was chosen to serve as the Chief Resident.
Dr. Chua has led cutting edge research and has published several peerreviewed articles in leading journals, including Ophthalmology, Cornea, and Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has been invited to several national conferences to present his work.
