Aliyeva Seville Heydar was born on 12 October 1955 in the city of Baku to a family of intelligentsia. She attended a secondary school in Baku from 1961 till 1971, studied at the school of music at the same time. 19711977 studied on the Arabian branch of the faculty of oriental studies of Azerbaijan State University (BSU now). 19771980 was a postgraduate student of the faculty of oriental studies of Moscow, USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1981, she finalized her research works and received a PhD degree in history. In 19811986, she was a scientific employee of the Institute for Oriental Studies of Moscow, USSR Academy of Sciences. Sevil Aliyeva became the first composer in not only Azerbaijan but also CIS whose songs were released by the Universal Music, world famous company.
