In this video, you will learn to play The Old Rugged Cross, a great gospel hymn written by George Bennard in 1913. It's in the key of C, a little bit too high for my range so you'll have to bear with it! It uses only the 1,4 and 5 chords, C, F and G in 3/4 time.

We use the alternating bass notes on the left hand and arpeggio #1on the first verse and chorus. For the second verse and chorus we play the bass notes an octave lower and play chords on the right hand.
