1. **Composite Scheme**:
**Definition**: The composite scheme, often referred to as the Composition Scheme, is a simplified tax scheme under GST designed for small businesses. It offers easier compliance requirements and a flat tax rate based on turnover.
**Applicability**: Small businesses with an annual turnover below a specified threshold (which may vary by state) are eligible to opt for the composite scheme.
**Features**:
Under this scheme, taxpayers pay tax at a fixed percentage of their turnover, rather than dealing with regular GST compliance.
Businesses availing of this scheme are not eligible to collect tax from their customers. Instead, they bear the tax burden themselves.
They cannot claim Input Tax Credit (ITC) on their purchases.
**Opting In/Out**: Eligible businesses can opt for the composition scheme during GST registration or later, subject to meeting specified conditions. Conversely, they can opt out of the scheme if they no longer meet the eligibility criteria.
**Advantages and Disadvantages**:
Advantages include reduced compliance burden, ease of administration, and certainty in tax payments.
Disadvantages may include inability to claim ITC, limited eligibility criteria, and restrictions on interstate sales.

2. **Exemption Services**:
**Definition**: Exempt services refer to certain categories of services that are not subject to GST. These services do not attract any tax liability and are outside the scope of GST.
**Categories**:
Some common examples of exempt services include healthcare services provided by doctors, educational services provided by educational institutions, and services provided by charitable organizations.
**Implications**:
Providers of exempt services do not charge GST to their customers.
They are not eligible to claim Input Tax Credit (ITC) on the purchases made for providing exempt services.
**Documentation and Compliance**:
Even though these services are exempt, businesses providing them need to maintain proper records and comply with other GST regulations.
**Exceptions and Specific Cases**:
There might be exceptions or specific cases where certain services, though generally exempt, might be taxable under specific circumstances. It's essential for businesses to understand these nuances to ensure compliance.

3. **Levy and Collection**:
**Levy**: The levy of tax refers to the statutory authority granted to the government to impose taxes on individuals, businesses, or transactions.
Under GST, the levy extends to the supply of goods or services or both.
The levy includes determining the rate of tax applicable, the point of taxation, and the manner of collection.
**Collection**:
Collection of tax involves the actual process of collecting taxes from taxpayers or customers by registered persons.
Registered businesses are required to collect taxes on taxable supplies made by them and remit the collected taxes to the government within the prescribed timelines.
Collection involves issuing tax invoices or bills of supply, including the applicable tax amount separately.

Understanding these concepts is essential for businesses and taxpayers to navigate the complexities of GST and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
