Expedition in Canada. Imagine being completely cut off from civilization for 10 days. No people, just the untouched wilderness. That's exactly what I experienced on a remote island in northwestern Canada, just before the Alaskan border. There are probably few places that are as difficult to reach as Porcher Island. This island is so remote that very few people ever find their way here. Surrounded by one of Canada's last primeval forests, the temperate rainforest, I overcame my toughest challenge yet.

My encounter with the mysterious coastal wolf, one of Canada's rarest animals. Two exciting days with Tomatolix, and how I introduce him to wildlife photography. A storm surge that almost knocks down our tents. The incredible spectacle of orcas rubbing their bellies right in front of our base camp.

This experience touched me deeply and showed me how worthy of protection our nature really is. The forest on this island is unique and more precious than anything I have ever seen before.

There are trees here that are over 1000 years old, provide a habitat for numerous animals and are among the biggest CO2 absorbers on our planet. But this valuable forest is in danger. Clearcutting, illegal logging and increasing tourism are taking their toll. In my video, I explain what we can do about it.
