This is a model of a Lauson RSC591, a small engine that was built in 1948. The model stands approximately eight inches tall to the top of the gas tank; it has a bore of 1 inch and a stroke of 7/8th inch. The engine was built by measuring the full size engine and then scaling the dimensions down accordingly.

The model is oneofakind and is built entirely of barstock; there are no castings in this model. Everything in the model was hand built with the exception of the spark plug. The engine is built mostly of aluminum but has a cast iron sleeve and valve guides. The engine incorporates an oil pump (like the full size) and uses a scale float carburetor. It took around 750 hours to build this model over a nine month period in 2015.
