12c church with evidence of a Saxon chapel...Saxon stone coffin lid was found under neath the Tower in 18th c.

Nearer the site a convalescent home (children home)which was founded by Agnes hunt in 1900 for sick children and who needed country air!...and later took in ww1 patients...plenty of graves in the war part of the churchyard from the home and hospital...
And also Agnes grave and a waterloo soldiers grave founded in the church.
