Midland Pullman and Class 37
Long Day of trains around Carlisle, Mossband and Quintinshill
18 June 24

18th June almost the longest day when the beautiful Blue Pullman took an excursion north to Oban and back. That set the limits of my day's recording from 7am until almost 10pm!

Starting out at Mossband, between Carlisle and Gretna Junction where the railway runs dead straight northsouth. Then or the morning at Quintinshill. The passing oops there on a nice sweeping curve, the site of the worst railway accident in British railway history.

Then a couple of visits to Carlisle's Citadel Station where I caught a West Coast Class 37 heading south to Carnforth and in the evening freight after freight, finishing off with the Midland Pullman heading south.

I'll admit to a couple of glitches I'm still trying to establish the optical limits of my new smartphone.
