In 1924 Western Electric introduced the "Hornless" 540 AW loudspeaker. It was innovative and opened the door to a new radio experience. Many of these speakers today are lacking their cones and suppliers are scarce. Most are in bad to fair condition. We are going to restore the pedestal and base, and using a cone supplied by Buford Chidester, coauthor of the book "Classic Cones" we will bring this gem back to life. The cone installation is relatively straight forward, but does have it's quirks.
