As many of you know I have a serious love for these vintage instruments made by Olds! The studio trumpet from 1962 is no exception. It also features a cool trigger that was really utilized on the Mendez and the recording instruments in their line. I have never seen one on studio! This horn has that cool twopiece bell with tons of projection and shimmer in the sound. I used two mouthpieces on this video demo, my Glantz piece (a copy of Harry Glantz's trumpet mouthpiece he gave Ed Treutel in 1938), and a commercial piece similar to our TAZ.
