DA THI Island is the first sunken island on this cruise that we visited. Personally, I have been to Truong Sa many times and know what it is like to be a sinking island or a floating island. Anyone who has not been to Truong Sa will find it difficult to imagine what a "sinking island" is like. It is a small island, not large in area, lying proudly between four waves of water. The island was formed, built and renovated on a coral foundation below sea level. At high tide, the coral reef is flooded; At low tide, the coral reefs around the island reveal their inherent beauty before the waves and winds of the sea.
But this time is very different. After a decade of having the opportunity to return here, the change in the island's skin made me extremely excited. DA Thi Island is located in the north of Truong Sa archipelago, and is one of the islands with an important position in the archipelago. If viewed from above, the island is slightly round and flattened at both ends. The slope and depth of the island are uneven, so when the tide is about 1.2 m high, the entire island is about 60 cm below the water surface. When the island's surface rises 30 cm above the water, there is still water in the middle of the island. Perhaps because the terrain, topography and climate of the island are quite different, there are certain difficulties when accessing the island. This makes me personally want to return to this place.
