Plantar fasciits is the most common diagnosis for heel pain, but we’d argue it is NOT the most common reason for heel pain.

In other words, is frequently misdiagnosed!!!

Most healthcare professionals do not perform the tests needed to accurately determine whether their patients truly have plantar fasciitis or not.

In our clinic, we see that 9 out of 10 patients that come in with heel pain actually have nerve pain related to sciatica that is masking as plantar fasciitis.

In this video, Dr. David shares the tests he uses to tell apart true plantar fasciitis from irritated nerves in the area.

There is a nerve branch commonly referred to as Baxter’s Nerve that runs immediately below the attachment of the plantar fascia at the heel. This nerve is a branch from the tibial nerve and the tibial nerve comes from the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve comes from the lower back.

So if you do not have true plantar fasciitis, you probably need to have your back, hips and knees checked out properly to get the best treatment!
