Exercising with a rotator cuff tear can be risky but also beneficial if you can do the right exercises in a way that doesn't hurt OR feed into the muscle imbalance that leads to a torn rotator cuff.

Shoulder exercises while nursing a rotator cuff need to focus on taking pressure off the tendons.

That means it is NOT a good idea to do exercise that adds a lot of tension to the rotator cuff muscles and tendons.
