How to use a relay and shift light tachometer to make a revlimiter for a magneto ignition on a small engine. Unlike an automotive type 12volt ignition, a lawn mower engine typically has a magneto ignition and cannot incorporate an aftermarket revlimiter. in this video i will show how I created a revlimiter using an old autometer shift light tach, by connecting the shift light power to a basic relay to ground the magneto coils at a set RPM.
