Salvador, 39 years old, has been working 20 years as a shoe shiner on the street at this traditional Square/Plaza in beautiful Downtown San Cristobal de las Casas. Doing the math, he has been a shoe shiner since he was 19 years old.

My brown leather laced up men's dress shoes got cleaned and super shined by Salvador well. He said he even used to work as a construction worker in Orlando for a few years.

I am grateful he welcomed me so I can document his skills.

Traveling San Cristobal has been a joy, especially learning more of the Indigenous struggle for equality. This has been my favorite mountain city so far.
