Amsterdam Airport is one of the worlds busiest airports and Europe’s 3rd busiest airport. Amsterdam is KLMs home base and also known as a heaven for plane spotting, with very unobstructed views due to canals separating airside and landslide instead of fences, making from some great shots!

For your vewing pleasure, I have mixed and matched videos filmed on two busy days at AMS, one day filmed from the famous Polderbaan bike trail and the other filmed from the other side of the Polderbaan and the P3 carpark later in the day for 27 arrivals and 18L departures.

Amsterdam for most is a plane spotters heaven as I said above, but for me its a very anxiety inducing airport to spot at. The locals have a saying when spotting at AMS, that you are "playing runway roullete" as they love to swap runway configerations out of no where. Amsterdam has SIX runways and some of them can take up to 30 minutes to get to from one an other. This means you better hope that the plane you're after doesn't land during a runway change!

You will notice a lot of KLM international flights in this video and also US airlines, as that was when most of those land at AMS. The morning rush truly is busy and as an Australian plane spotter, something really cool to experience!

I produced this video with the intention of bringing Amsterdam plane spotting, raw, uncut and real to your living room! I stood out in the rain, wind and cold so you don't have to.
