Read below for updates...So, in this video I used Seafoam to clean the carbon from the rings. This 2010 chevy Equinox has about 112K miles and started using oil. I removed the oil cap and there was lots of blowby. At the end of the video, I show a before and after video so you can see that it stopped the blowby. Now I wait to see if the oil consumption stops. (see below) I was going to cut is down but that's what fast forward is for :)
My PCV was working fine. An easy test for the PCV hole being blocked or not is at this link: • Chevy Equinox Ecotec Engine PCV Test ... A Catch can on the clean air intake side of the PCV makes no sense but it looks like they try everything. If you are getting oil on that side, you need to check your blowby by just lifting the oil cap while its running.
4/24/23 One week later, oil not down any.
4/27/23 This weekend the car is going from Tucson to Prescott AZ and back. Oil is still full (still). I'll let you know how it goes.
5/1/23 1200 miles after the Seafoam treatment (with ~7 hours freeway driving to Prescott AZ and back) The oil might have come down a bit but, it is still in the top quarter of the stick crosshatched area so it's hard to tell.
5/18/23 1536 miles and no oil loss at all. This time I checked it cold before driving and it is all the way up on the stick!
7/5/23 I'm now at 3500 miles from the Seafoam treatment and I'm down 1/3 of a quart. I change the oil every 5000 miles so at this rate I'll be down about 1/2 quart between oil changes and I'm very happy with that!

so far so good. I changed the oil at 4000 because it was down 1 qt. I would have liked to make 5000 but the VVT valve died, and it was down a quart. 4000 is better than the 400 I was getting before. I added a pint of seafoam to the engine (added it to the oil) and drove 50 miles before the oil change. I'll keep posting at 1000mile intervals or so. When you change the VVT you are required to change the oil as well.

so far so good. I changed the oil at 4800 because it was down 1 qt. Doing good now! I running 5oz seafoam in the oil as well.
