We traveled to Egypt over the Christmas holiday period in 2022/2023. Though our time was brief, we made the most of it by exploring the Nile river valley, starting in Cairo where we saw Islamic Cairo, Coptic Cairo, and the pyramids of Giza and Saqqara. We flew down to Aswan where we stayed in a Nubian village and toured Abu Simbel before we boarded the Movenpick Sun Ray for a 3night cruise to Luxor. Along the way, we visited Kom Ombo and Edfu. In Luxor, we saw the Valley of the Kings, Colossi of Memnon, and the temples of Hatshepsut, Karnak, and Luxor. Egypt is full of archaeological wonders and it was a dream come true to see them in person.
