The 2023 New Year celebration came off on 1st January at the Paramount Chief's palace in Sandema.

This is an annual gathering of the religious community to thank God for the blessings of the past year and also offer prayers for the Chief and the land for a fruitful new year.

This nondenominational service witnesses attendance from all Christian and Islamic communities.
