Belize’s Qualified Retirement Program (QRP) is one of the world’s easiest residency programs and you don’t even have to be of retirement age to qualify. As of this year, you can apply from age 40. Other requirements include being able to show an income of $2,000 a month or more, passing a security check, and staying in Belize for a minimum of 30 consecutive days each year.

For Americans, the QRP is particularly appealing as if you’re a fulltime resident of Belize you’re eligible for the U.S. foreignearnedincome exclusion. Plus, the Belize dollar is pegged to the U.S. dollar, so Americans have no currencyexchange risk. Add to that, Belize is a welcoming, stable, peaceful country where everyone speaks English.
