2024 Chery Omoda 5 GT review

The Right Car?

This budget small SUV has been improved significantly since it launched.

When I first drove the Chery Omoda 5 review here:    • Chery Omoda 5 review  Does Australia...   I was impressed with some elements but disappointed by plenty of others.

Fun fact in some markets, it’s called the Omoda C5!

Namely, the drive experience, and the safety technology and its overtly interventional nature, which made the existing version really hard to live with on a daytoday basis.

But Chery Australia has listened to feedback and made big changes to the Omoda 5, and there's a new version this one here, the 2024 Chery Omoda 5 GT which gets a more powerful turbo petrol engine and a better transmission, as well as better suspension.

So, it's improved but is it the right compact crossover SUV for you? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
