2024 GAC Aion S Max indepth Walkaround

The GAC Aion S Max sedan has been launched with a starting price of 20,500 USD. Aion, a NEV (New Energy Vehicle) brand under GAC New Energy, was first introduced in 2018 during the Guangzhou Auto Show. The GAC Aion S sedan, the brand's second model, was launched in 2019, and GAC has regularly updated it in China. In 2021, the Aion S Plus sedan entered the Chinese market, with both the Aion S and S Plus models being sold simultaneously.

The dimensions of the Aion S Max sedan are 4863 mm in length, 1890 mm in width, and 1515 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2760 mm. This makes it 53 mm longer and 10 mm wider than its predecessor, with a wheelbase that is also 10 mm longer. The Aion S Max features a reworked center console with smaller air intakes and a center tunnel that includes two wireless charging pads and a hidden compartment. The gear selector is positioned behind the steering wheel.

The Aion S Max offers five trim levels. The first four trims are equipped with a 204hp electric motor on the front axle, allowing the sedan to accelerate to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. The toptrim Aion S Max features a 245hp electric motor, achieving a zerotohundred acceleration time of 6.8 seconds. The sedan has two battery options: a 59.5 kWh LFP pack providing a 510 km WLTC range, and a 69.7 kWh ternary (NMC) pack offering a 610 km WLTC range.
