2024 MG4 EV indepth Walkaround

The MG4 EV is a battery electric small family car (Csegment) manufactured by the Chinese automotive company SAIC Motor and marketed under the British MG marque. This vehicle is designed to provide a blend of efficiency, performance, and practicality for everyday use.

The MG4 EV is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. It offers a power output ranging from 125 kW to 180 kW (168 to 241 hp) for the rearwheeldrive (RWD) versions, and up to 320 kW (429 hp) for the allwheeldrive (AWD) variant. The car comes with two types of batteries: a 49–51 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and a 64–77 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) lithiumion battery. Depending on the battery, the MG4 EV provides a driving range of 350 to 520 km (217 to 323 miles) according to the WLTP cycle.

For plugin charging, the MG4 EV supports DC fast charging with different capacities based on the battery size: 88 kW for the 49–51 kWh battery, 140 kW for the 64 kWh battery, and 144 kW for the 77 kWh battery.

In terms of dimensions, the MG4 EV has a wheelbase of 2,705 mm (106.5 in), a length of 4,287 mm (168.8 in), a width of 1,836 mm (72.3 in), and a height of 1,504 mm (59.2 in). The kerb weight of the vehicle ranges from 1,641 kg to 1,665 kg (3,618 to 3,671 lbs), ensuring a stable yet nimble driving experience.
