one of the biggest transitrelated events of the year is finally here! muni heritage weekend is one of my favorite weekends of the year, and it’s enjoyed by more than just transit fans and advocates! i did not get a chance to get on this E800 last year, so i made it a priority to get on this time. thankfully, muni reverted the trolleybus routing back to what it was in 2022; i was not a fan of last year’s loop. this runs along the former 20 columbus route. unfortunately, it does not seem like they made sure the route was ready for operation; a tree was in the overhead catenary and caused the E800 to dewire (seen at 13:55, occurring at the intersection of columbus and pacific/kearny). the ride quality seems to have gone down; there are many jitters when the bus suddenly accelerates from a slow speed, which supposedly wasn’t the case before. the other half of the route and the return trip was a lot more eventful, and will be featured on my channel as well!
