After nearly 3 years of ownership experience with the MK5 Toyota Supra, how does it stack up to the newest 2024 Nissan Z Nismo? I used to own a 2016 Nismo 370Z and loved it! However when it came time to buy a new Nissan Z, I picked another Toyota Supra since it was better in every way. While the Toyota Supra is about $6k more expensive then a Nissan Z Performance, the Supra is better at everything it does. The Nismo Z however, is a game changer! Amazing car! I really think the NIsmo comes out of the gate strong and is a blast to drive! Stiff suspension with aggressive bucket seats make the Nismo fun to drive! The steering and transmission are much quicker to respond and dial in the precision very well over the standard Z. I love the look too with the Nismo body kit and red accents. For sure the Nismo edition Nissan Z is a direct competitor to the new Toyota Supra! Both very similar but a bit different. Only drawback now is that the Nismo Z costs on average now $6,000 more then a Supra! My manual Supra was about $10,000 cheaper then this spec 2024 NIsmo Z. So now they are direct competitors with the Z costing more? Not sure why they priced it so high and that really makes it hard to give up adaptive suspension, steering, exhaust, better refinements and tech for the Nismo. If you don't mind the price difference either car is a blast to drive. Also the Nismo doesn't offer a manual transmission which is also a downside. But if manual and cost aren't a problem with you, either car will give you a ton of smiles! Toyota Supra is a much better value with it's tech, features and refinements, but the Nismo Z offers a fun old school feeling and is strictly a sports car. So both have some benifts!
