Hi!!

I've wanted to make this for so long! These colors....!! And the dynamics!
Yet also the depth of the transparent 'faux pillow', which gives an extra dimension!

A while ago I made something similar on a small canvas, with the same kind of color palette for the 'hide and reveal' colors, with the same color transparent blue, and I wanted to work it out on a large scale. By using a transparent color for the 'faux pillow', you can see the layers of colors (especially if they are dark, such as brown) coming through when it dries. This gives a different kind of depth, it's almost as if the swipes and colors are floating on top of the blue. I thought this was a really cool effect. The stripes I make over the layers of colors also become visible through the blue, especially once the paint is stretched by spinning. This is a little less visible here, because I applied the stripes a little too much to the sides, but it is still visible there. It almost has a kind of underwater look.
I deliberately chose to apply the swipes in the center of the canvas last. I've been working on this for quite a while. And the first swipes, the CA, will of course be the first to sink, if it takes longer before you start spinning. The center should always have catchy details to keep it interesting. And the center is the core from which the paint spreads through spinning. If the CA is given too much time to sink, there is a risk of 'wonky' cells, and I wanted to avoid that.

The first reactions are so heartwarming! Thank you for that, that really makes me excited to keep doing this and making videos!

See you soon x

How I make my BASE:

Talens Art Creation Titanium White and Owatrol floetrol (1:3 minimal water added). I do this in portions (cups) of 35 grams of Titanium White and 105 grams of Owatrol, and usually add 5 grams of water. I make larger stocks of this, and always try to let it rest for at least 2 days so that it has fewer air bubbles...

The colors I used:

TLP Honeycomb
TLP Zeus
TLP Abalone
Golden QNAG
Golden Van Dyke Brown
Winsor & Newton Phthalo Bluw
Amsterdam Sky Blue Light
Amsterdam Prussian Blue

I MIX MY COLORS also with Owatrol floetrol. Ratio depends on the pigmentation and thickness of the paint, also a very small amount of water added for consistency, but slightly thinner than the base.

I first wet my PIGMENTS with a little JoSonja varnish until I have a paste. Then I add a small scoop of binder (Caparol). I also use Owatrol as PM with the pigments and that is not paint. It therefore lacks the binding. And I personally don't like it when colors become 'runny'. So that's how I solve it. Then I also add Owatrol floetrol to this, I do that by eye, in the same consistency as the other colours.

I make my CELL ACTIVATOR with acrylic paint and Australian floetrol (1:2). I used Amsterdam Titanium White here. For the Gold cell activator I mix two different types of Gold. I use Golden Bright Gold and Amsterdam Deep Gold (1:3 approximately). Because Amsterdam works well, and Golden to make the color more beautiful!
