When I've posted videos of how to paint silk scarves with alcohol inks, one question I received repeatedly is "how do you set the color?"
Here's a video explaining the vinegar soaking process I used. To help prevent fading, I soak each silk scarf (after it's been painted and dried) in cold water with a mixture of approx. 1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar and approx. 2 tablespoons of iodized salt.
After the silk scarf dries, I iron it with a steam iron. Then, I repeat the process all over again.
