Tarikh is a daily program in which we present you with incidents and stories of noteworthy persons of Indian History in Hindi. In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil narrates the story of the last Nizam Nizam Mir Barkat Ali Khan Siddiqi Mukarram Jah, Asaf Jah VIII.

He was born to Mir Himayat Ali Khan alias Azam Jah Bahadur in 1933 in France. His father was the first son of Mir Osman Ali Khan, the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad before it was merged with the Indian Union in 1948. His mother Princess Durru Shewar was the daughter of the last Sultan of Turkey Sultan Abdul Mejid II. Mukarram Jah aka Asaf Jah VIII was crowned as the titular 8th Nizam of Hyderabad after the death of his grandfather in 1967. He was once considered the richest man of India. He stayed at Teen Murti Bhavan in New Delhi for a short while and briefly served as an honorary aidedecamp of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
