Julia, the deputy legal affairs secretary to Governor Gavin Newsom, oversees a range of important issues in her work, including reproductive rights, immigration, and health and human services.

She took a few minutes during this year’s spring NAB meeting to talk to Cardinal Careers program associate Jessica Reynoso, ‘20, about her career trajectory, why she wanted to pursue a career in public service, and how she pivoted when she ultimately did not receive the Cardinal Careers postgraduation fellowship she applied for during her senior year.
