Guess what? We're building a 3D printer!!! I know there are already way too many 3D printer videos on YouTube, but this is going to be a rather special one! In fact, I'm on a budget of only $50, so I'm skipping the expensive NEMA 17 stepper motors everyone else uses entirely, instead relying on unipolar stepper motors salvaged from ewaste like old laser printers, photocopyers and typewriters!
This is going to be a rather unusual indepth video series on the engineering and the design challenges of a supercheap homemade wooden 3D printer with a print volume of 330x240x240 millimeters, in an attempt to get a little diversity into the 3D printing space.
In this project introduction video I show you the concept I spent the last couple of months developping, and explain the background of my decision to suddenly build one, even though I personally don't like 3D printing.
