40 Years of Christmas Traditions: Where Christmas Past Comes to Life is a new documentary produced by the City’s Media Department. Under the auspices of Video Producer Jim Dreyer, the documentary gives a behindthescenes account of a tradition 40 years in the making that combines the use of photographs, archival footage and
interviews to chart the history and evolution of one of the largest Christmas festivals in the country.
The 30minute work provides an overview of the vision, passion and motivation behind this Saint Charles tradition, and pays homage to a number of individuals involved from the festival’s inception, including Donna Hafer and the late John Dengler and Archie Scott.
