4,400 people who went missing at various times during the 20th century suddenly return to earth inside an asteroid, remaining just as they were on the day they disappeared. Concerned authorities launch an investigation to find out where these people have been and why they have been brought back. Very soon it becomes clear that their appearance can change the world in the most unpredictable way.
