Hi all! I haven't done a long form video in a while, so during editing I decided not to cut anything at all as I felt it was a good learning video of the trials and tribulations and accompany fluid art. I hope you catch most of it! This is the last in the series highlighting the This Little Piggy color created for me by The Fluid Art Co. It's called Waterfall and IMO, is the perfect shade of blue. This is a deconstructed landscape technique on a 16”x20” gallery wrapped canvas. I am super excited about this one, and this is a planned, deliberate and intentional piece where I really wanted something darker, moodier, with a sunset behind the storm clouds and a turbulent sea. It takes me nearly 40 minutes to get there, but I think it paid off. Let me know what you think! Cheers, Karen

Colors/Brands/Pouring Medium Recipe:

House Paintbase aka puddle for the substrate:

PPG MultiPro in Eggshell.

Pouring Medium aka PM Recipe: mix with all colors EXCEPT the cell activator:

Behr 8300 Untinted Deep Base Paint (Home Depot); JoSonja Gloss Varnish 3:2 ratio paint to varnish. Mix well.

Brands/Colors mixed:

This Little Piggy (TLP) pigments in Waterfall, Violet Rain and Hammerhead; Da Vinci Fluid Acrylics in Payne's Gray; Golden Fluid Acrylics in Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold.

Golden, Atelier, and Da Vinci Fluid Acrylics: I put about 22 1/2 ounces of the pouring medium into a 3 ounce cup, then squirt in color until I reach my desired shade. Mix well.

For tube paint, I added an ounce of paint (heaping tablespoon) to a 3 ounce cup, then added 2 ounces of pouring medium. If still thick then I'll add a teaspoon of varnish/water to thin. (I make a bottle of "JoWa" by adding 1/3 JoSonja Gloss Varnish and the rest water, and keep it in a squeeze bottle and use as my "water.")

All pigments are 1/8th tsp. predisbursed with a small amount of JoSonja Varnish to wet it (stir really well), then add into a 3 oz. cup of Pouring Medium; stir well.

Cell Activator Color:

Australian Floetrol + Amsterdam Lamp Black and Amsterdam Grayish Blue. Approximately 3:1 ratio Floetrol to paint.
