4380 L5 Calibration Quantitation and the Moral Imperative to use Statistically-Defensible Methods

Follow
Forensic Chemistry at Sam

DW walks through three calibration methods to analyze a check sample of cocaine in blood. There is a decision dilemma where the less statistically defensible analysis gives the "right answer". What should be done? Remember, 'should' is a moral word, not a scientific word. Science tells us what "is", not what "ought". There is a moral and practical imperative to use the most statisticallydefensible method of analysis, so you don't find yourself in a situation where you must defend a selfserving decision.
