In our series of selfdefense handgun cartridges, we come to the .45 ACP. Introduced in the US Army's Model 1911, this cartridge has been a mainstay in this country for more than 100 years, serving in every major conflict since World War I and is still in service with both military and police units as well as civilian selfdefense. Is the big .45 a manstopping Legend or is it Lame as so many 9mm proponents label it today?
