የጽርሐ ጽዮን ቅድስት ማርያም ኢ.ኦ.ተ.ቤ.ክ በዩኬ ለኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተከታዮች በሙሉ የእምነትና ሃገራዊ ባህልን ማሳያ ብርሃን ሆኖ ለብዙ አመታት ቆይቷል።

ራዕያችን ምንድን ነው? በ229 Lower Clapton Road (London E5 8EG) የሚገኘውን ሕንጻችንን ወደ ኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ሕንጻ ቤተ/ያን መቀየር ነው። ይህም የአምልኮ ስፍራ፣ የማህበረሰብ መሰብሰቢያ ማዕከል እና ሰፊ የሆነ ባህሎቻችንን እሴቶቻችንንና ቅርሶቻችንን የምንጠብቅበት እና በጋራ ፍቅርን የምንካፈልበት ቦታ ማድረግ ነው።

ለዚህም ሕጋዊ ፍቃድም አግኝተን የተለያዩ ዘርፈ ብዙ ስራዎችን እንደ እግዚአብሔር ፈቃድ ስንሰራ ቆይተናል። ነገር ግን ሩጫውን ለመጨረስ አሁን ላይ ብዙ መንገድ ይቀረናል። ለመጨረስ የተለያዩ ወሳኝ ሥራዎች ይቀሩናል ለምሳሌ የፊት መግቢያ፣ መስኮቶች እና በሮች (ከውስጥም ከውጭም) መትከል ያስፈልጋል። እንዲሁም ብርሃን እና አየር ወደ ቦታው እንዲገባ ለማድረግ የጣሪያውን ሥራ መሥራት አለብን። በተጨማሪም ለአምልኮ እና ለማህበረሰብ አገልግሎቶች ወሳኝ ቦታዎች የመዘኒን ወለል ና ቪክሬጅ ግንባታ ሥራዎች ወደፊት ሊራመዱ የሚችሉት በከፍተኛ የገንዘብ ድጋፍ ብቻ ነው።

እናም ይህን ራእይ ለማሳካትና እውን ለማድረግ እርሶ የታሪክ አካል እንዲሆኑ በአክብሮት ጋብዞኖታል። ማንኛውም ልገሳ መጠኑ ምንም ይሁን ምን፣ በለንደን እምብርት ውስጥ የሚገኘውን ይህንን የተቀደሰ ቦታ ለአምልኮ፣ ባህል እና ማህበረሰብ የሚያገናኝ ቦታ በሮች ለመክፈት የሚረዳ እርምጃ ነው። የማይጠፋ ታሪክ እና ዘላቂ አሻራ ለማስቀመጥ ዛሬውኑ ይቀላቀሉን። ለትውልድ የሚተርፍ የሰላም፣ የእምነት እና የአንድነት ቦታ በጋራ እንሥራ።



The Ethiopian Orthodox Church St. Mary of Zion (EOTCSMZ) UK has been a beacon of faith and culture for the Ethiopian Orthodox community in the UK for many years. Our dream? To transform our property at 229 Lower Clapton Road (London E5 8EG) into a traditional Ethiopian Orthodox Church and community center – a sanctuary for worship, a hub for community gatherings, and a place to preserve and share our rich heritage.

With planning permission secured, we’ve already made strides in this transformation, but there’s still a long journey ahead. Essential work remains to be completed: the front entrance, windows, and doors (both inside and out) need to be installed. We also need to address the roofing to allow light and ventilation into the space. Additionally, the construction of the mezzanine floor and vicarage – crucial areas for worship and community services – can only move forward with significant funding.

We invite you to be a part of this historic restoration and help bring our vision to life.
