VIDEO Hey everyone! Welcome to the video!

For after 95 years, from 1929 to 2024, Downsview Airport in Toronto, Canada would be coming to a close. The airport that was home to de Havilland Canada from 1929 to 2022 and Bombardier from 1994 to 2024 was preparing for the last ever aircraft to depart the field for one final time. That aircraft came in the form of a Global 7500, CGYIN (serial number 70193). It would be the last of some 9,500 aircraft produced there by de Havilland Canada and Bombardier.

'BBA22' ('BOMBARDIER 22') started its engines and taxied out to RWY 15/33 to perform a few taxi tests and high speed break tests. Once the go ahead was given, the aircraft was cleared to Montreal with a RWY 33 departure and a right hand closed pattern for one final pass overhead northbound and then onwards to Montreal. Couldn't have asked for better lighting and conditions for such a bittersweet moment.

A big thanks to all the photographers and videographers who came out to witness and capture Canadian Aviation History.

Farewell Downsview!
