Recently, a section of Pine Street between Melrose and 8th avenues transitioned to a oneway street, westbound only, to create a safer and more pleasant downtown experience. This change is part of a larger initiative to reconfigure Pine and Pike streets into oneway roads, enhancing the downtown area for all travelers. The street is also home to major retail landmarks, including the former Bon Marché flagship store, Westlake Center, and Nordstrom's flagship store, making it a vibrant destination for shopping and leisure. The Paramount Theatre on Pine Street is a historic venue that has been the cornerstone of the city's arts and culture scene since its opening in 1928. With a stunning interior that reflects its origins in the silent film era, the theatre now hosts a wide range of performances, from Broadway productions to concerts, comedy, and dance.
