Welcome to the Dyess Big Country Air Fest 2023!

Filmed on April 22, 2023, this features the local 7th Bomb Wing and their B1B Lancer bombers in one of their amazing departures as well as a pass around the show before landing. The 2nd B1 departed to March Air Reserve Base for their show that was happening the same day.

The 7th Bomb Wing is the host unit at Dyess Air Force Base. Assigned to the Global Strike Command Eighth Air Force, it is one of only two B1B Lancer strategic bombardment wings in the Air Force. The wing contains two flying squadrons: the 9th Bomb Squadron and the 28th Bomb Squadron. The 9th Bomb Squadron maintains combat readiness to deliver rapid, decisive airpower on a large scale in support of conventional warfare taskings. The 28th Bomb Squadron provides all B1 initial qualification, requalification, and instructor upgrade training for Global Strike Command.
