On Tuesday 17th January 2017 Singapore Airlines commenced Airbus A350 operations on the SingaporeManchester Houston route, replacing the B777300ER.
Due to work and school commitments we were unable to catch the inaugural and a days worth of bad weather had meant we were unable to catch the A350 up until today. With good weather forecast and 05's in use we jumped at the chance of making a trip to the airport.
Waking up early we just caught the first A350 arriving from Singapore as SQ51 operated by 9VSMD.

We then stayed to film the second A350 arrival, SQ51 from Houston which arrived just before 09:30, landing on runway 05R in some lovely lighting. 9VSMB

We then made a long walk to a spot near the rotation point of 05L. Unfortunately the cloud that was forecast for the late afternoon moved quicker than expected and the sun soon disappeared, annoyingly becoming overcast.

The commencement of A350 operations to Manchester is great to see and we look forward to filming more in the future.
