Have you ever been nervous watching a plane approach a runway? I definitely have now! This morning, SFO was in a rare configuration for landing planes on the 1's. Most planes took a much wider approach, flying over Interstate 280 before making a fairly smooth right hand turn to line up for Runway 01R. The pilots of this 767 had other ideas. The pilots started following Interstate 101 and at the latest moment possible, made a steep right turn to land on 01R, only getting wings level only about 20 feet over the runway. Great job to the pilot for pulling off an impressive maneuver like that, but it definitely was a surprising sight to see.
