On September 22, 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy arrived in Toronto as part of his brief Canadian visit which included a stop in Ottawa beforehand.

Earlier in the week, Zelenskyy visited New York for the annual United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). During that time, it was revealed that he would travel to Washington to meet with President of the United States Joe Biden before flying to Ottawa to address parliament that following Friday morning and meet with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

President Zelenskyy flew to Ottawa Thursday evening and addressed Canadian Parliament the following morning. Afterwards, both Zelenskyy and Trudeau flew down to Toronto where Zelenskyy met with Canadian business leaders and with UkrainianCanadian families in a separate event.

Their flights consisted of three Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft, two Challengers, a CC150 Polaris with Trudeau onboard and a Ukraine Government Airbus A319 with Zelenskyy onboard. All aircraft landed on RWY 05 at Toronto Pearson between 17451820hrs local and parked at the North End of the field. What was really cool was the ATC Exchange between Toronto Ground and the Ukrainian A319 as the Ground controller was Ukrainian, so they spoke in Ukrainian for a bit. And not to mention the motorcade, about 35 or so cars that left right behind each other with both Zelenskyy and Trudeau.
