5 CHANGES TO AIR TRAVEL THE CABIN CREW ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO
Getting back to work Since 2020 many crew members have either been furloughed or their hours of work have been decreased significantly. So getting back to work with a renewed focus on travel going forward, is huge for them.
New Popular Destinations Increasing flights to places that have been hit hard over the last couple of years and decreasing to flights to destinations frequented for business meetings. More people are interested in getting away again and there are less international business meetings being booked, since the surge of video conferencing. Meaning increased demand for flight attendants, since they will generally be on long haul trips.
Improved chances for Upgrades Any kind of perk they can offer the passenger, the happier they are and the smoother the flight can be for all passengers alike. Over the last couple of years, the airlines has tried to recoup as much of their lost revenue as possible. There were cut backs to services, less likely to be upgraded unless for a premium price and in some cases reduced crew members on board. All these measures led to frustrated passengers and unruly behaviour. So once they get past this last surge of lockdowns, you are going to see prices dropped and services returned to prepandemic days. Thinking of traveling look at March, April and May for a drop in prices.
Reintroducing Alcohol Again there were a few/many airlines who suspended serving alcohol in the main/economy cabin from since last March 2021, due to passengers acting out and being coming increasingly abusive. They found that there was a direct correlation with alcohol and people becoming increasing agitated. However, there is also evidence that in some cases a person feels a sense of calmness once they have a drink. Either way the attendants are looking forward to being able to serve the passengers again, something they have been accustomed to having.
Overall Happiness and Relief as countries start to open again, businesses, restaurants, tourist attractions are welcoming back patrons, this is just going to alleviate the anxious feeling that most of us have had to deal with. It will just be a feeling of "Flying High!"
