Tony Northrup followsup on his review of the Fujifilm X100VI compact mirrorless camera to go into greater detail about some of the camera's deep flaws. While the Fuji X100VI is the world's most popular compact, fixedlens mirrorless camera, and it's gone through six generations of refinements, Fuji has overlooked some very serious problems while putting their energy into features that don't provide a feasible improvement (like the megapixels of the sensor).

These problems detract from a camera that's supposed to be fun. Reading a 420 page manual ( https://sdp.io/x6manual ) IS NOT FUN. Waiting 22 seconds for EACH JPG photo to transfer to your phone IS NOT FUN. Remembering, or forgetting, to dig into the menus to manually switch between dog and human eye AF IS NOT FUN. Needing to reset the focus point every time you pick up the camera isn't fun.

Look, we're willing to make some sacrifices to get great images. But in our sidebyside tests, the X100VI doesn't produce significantly better images in most scenarios compared to the previous generation X100V or even a modern iPhone 15 Pro Max.

This video isn't just to complain or put down the Fuji X100VI, because I love it. Instead, it's meant to provide some direction and inspiration for the nextgeneration X100VII so that it becomes a camera that's more accessible to a wider, younger, less technical audience. I do believe the X100series cameras are the best first camera for younger people who learned photography on a smartphone, but if they're going to take their photography to the next level, they need a camera that's easier and more fun to use.
