LIST OF QUESTIONS FOR YOU TO ASK YOUR ADVISOR OR AGENT
1) How many years of experience do they have in ONLY annuities?
(You do not want a jackofalltrades type of agent or financial advisor. And, for sure, not someone that sells annuities AND investments since they will be limited in knowledge and the number of companies they represent.

2) That brings us to our next question: How many insurance companies do they represent?
(The more companies, the better chance you’ll be getting the best annuity)

3) How many more years will they still be in business?
(You want to make sure the person you’re working with will be there to support you. In this business, many agents or advisors are no longer in business after a few years)

4) What are your average case sizes?
(This shows how much they know in dealing with small and complicated cases)

5) Are they a traditional insurance company or agency, or are they selling through a multilevel marketing pyramid scheme?
(You don’t want an agent who is focused on building a downline through a marketing pyramid scheme. You, as the client, will not be their main focus.)

6) MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION:
“What strategies do they have to maximize the annuity so you can put LESS in? Do they teach about laddering “out” vs. laddering “in”? Do they teach about combining MYGAs with Hybrid Pensions? These are questions you usually don’t ask them. You ask yourself if they are willing to share openly with you. You’ll find out many of them either don’t have the experience or are simply looking at making the most commission possible.
