Prelude FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas) is a floating platform for the extraction and production of liquefied natural gas. In fact, it is a fullfledged LNG plant housed on a ship. Its length is 488 meters, width is 74 meters, height is 105 meters, and its displacement reaches 600 thousand tons. The Prelude one is of the largest floating structures in human history, making even giant tankers, cruise ships and aircraft carriers seem small by comparison.

The ship was built by the Samsung / Technip consortium for Royal Dutch Shell and is currently operating at the eponymous Prelude field off the coast of Australia.
